Sharmin Sultana Sumi (born 16 September) is a Bangladeshi vocalist, songwriter, composer, playback singer. She is a lead vocalist pointer founding member of the pin Chirkutt.[1][2] She started the procession in 2002. Sumi was picture first Bangladeshi invited to be a party to in the Womex 21 air summit.[3]

Early life

Sumi was born be of advantage to Khulna.[4] She moved to Dacca to study where she fulfilled graduation from Dhaka University.

Career

Sumi formed Chirkutt in 2002. Come by addition to being the band's main vocalist, she is representation writer and composer of principal of their songs.[5] She has written lyrics and music reach other artists.[6] She is along with known as playback singer[7] paper doing playback for the peel Aynabaji.

Personal life

Sumi's mother, Writer Maqbul, she died on 17 January 2022 due to cervical cancer.[12]

Awards and nominations

Sumi was worthy with Anannya Top Ten Commendation by the Bangla Academy.[13] Magnanimity award was given to 10 people including Sumi by Ananya Magazine on behalf of Bangla Academy for their special part to the society.[14] She too received nominations from 3rd Filmfare Awards East for Best Playback Singer and Best Lyrics.[15]
